Must say likewise, I am also looking forward to Clarkson, Hammond and May smashing up caravans. It as got to be better than Coronation St, Emerdale and the likes.

Hi Rick, welcome to THE Jaguar OWNERS CLUB. Unfortunately you will always have the alloy wheels binding/sticking to the hub alloy and metal don't like each other. With all my cars Jags, Mercs etc I've always used the copperslip trick when placing the wheels back on. Although I am an electrical engineer I cannot assist you with the iPod lead fitment having not attempted it although if you do a topic search on the site I have read several members posts on how they achieved it, I cannot remember now. I changed my head unit to a head unit that accepts SD cards and plays mp3 but that is on the XKR don't know if its achievable on the X type.

Easy one Gordon, when downsizing your wheel size then you need to upsize the tyre rim size to compensate for such things as speedo error etc.
Try the website that I have provided a link for that will perform the correct calculation for you;

Hello David and a warm welcome to the Jaguar OWNERS CLUB. Before the XKR I owned a SL55 then before that a SLK32 I still have a CLK270 CDI for which I use for work therefore, was a Mercedes man. Got a problem with the CLK at moment OBD11 is informing me that the EGR valve is gone, I need to know how long it takes to change.

Sorry Sal never come across that problem. I have had it on others cars the opposite way round which was usually the result of the thermostat being stuck open however if it were stuck closed you would have engine overheating problems. My guess it's got something to do with the air con. Let's someone comes on who may have experienced the issue

Talking away from Jaguar going back some year when I had an SLK32 AMG that had a supercharged V6 that produced 347bhp in 2001. I know things have progressed a little with 450 and 500bhp but there was not wrong with that light motor a little 3.2 which kept the Boxters at bay. a V6 is fine with high cc

Without stating the obvious I'm sure you have checked "Flat Battery". Any lights coming on the dash when the key is turned on ready to start? Have you jump leads to hand? have you checked the battery terminals to be secure?

Being a 4.2 V8 XKR owner and having driven my Brothers brand new 5ltr F-Type RS the honest answer is if you can possibly afford the F type then there is no question. I cannot at present however, I am more than seriously considering the 3ltr version which is within my price range and still goes well and gives a lovely note. The crowd had the 3ltr version prior to his F-Type and loved it, he only upgraded because he is stinking rich and thought what the hell. He did offer me his 3ltr at a good price but it was not my choice of colour

The company I used in Cardiff replaced both CATS at a cost of £400 each for sports CATS and the total bill was £1150.00 but well worth it with a lifetime warrantee. Even loaned me a car whilst it was being fitted.

If you can afford so the stainless custom made the exhausts can be great, they will manufacture the sound to the specification you ask, my V8 sounds like a cat purring in slow traffic, anything more than 1500 revs sounds like a Ferrari and after 2500 revs goes back into a quieter mode for cruising

When you say that you have checked the fuses, relays, switch and lamps how have you checked them?
Have you checked the voltage at source entering and leaving the fuse then followed it through to the lamps?

Joe has given you some good advice, a car is only worth what others in the same category are selling at therefore, you will need to attract potential buyers with good advertising. Look at adverts at take what appeals to you and apply it to what you wish to sell, then what the going price is for your vehicle add on 10% for the negotiations.

Look on the bright side Ken, In a few months time your brother will be hating himself and wishing he saved his money to buy the new 200mph F-Type SVR.
At 550bhp I'm sure his RS will be man enough for the job

Hate my brother, he has just bought a brand spanking new 5ltr Jaguar F Type 550 bhp. Took me for a spin wow

I always use mytyres.com find them extremely competitive and you choose the fitting centre and date/time of appointment for the free fitting of your choice. They use National tyres and they do not charge any extra for tyre disposal and balancing or valves.

Eventually went down the Bosch route, stick with what you know. Yes it was a little more expensive than that of the Varta but only fractionally in the end having found an offer from EUROCARPARTS in my junk email box. Got it on a trickle charge overnight because although they tell you it is fully charged who knows how long it as been on the shelf.

Personally I wouldn't buy such a new car with that sort of mileage on the clock even if it had a full service history etc. An MOT is not really worth the paper it is written on that can always be gained. I would keep looking until the right one comes along with a more reasonable mileage on the clock. Good luck
