  1. I would only be able to answer your question by testing both the switch and resistor sorry. Being an electrical engineer by profession this would be my first port of call however, if you are not confident in the use of a multimeter then I suggest you take it along to a technician that can solve your problem. If you bridge the switch (short it out) and it works then I would suggest the switch if it does not work then I would suggest the resistor

  2. Sounds very much to me that its a coolant leak due to the fact that it as been working fine for up and onwards of four weeks. If you are considering a re-gas the ensure the company performing the task carries out a pressure test in order to establish any leaks that are present.

  3. Hugh, it sounds to me like an electrical plug has come adrift whilst at the body shop or if any painting was done then did any overspray get into any plug or socket causing a bad connection. Certainly sounds like a simple electrical problem albeit these sort of problems are not always easy to find. I would start by investigating the ares for which work was undertaken. Good luck, let us know how you get off

  4. Hi Gary, thanks for providing the information. I would have no problem in getting to you prior to the time you leave for work however, I am unsure to the 5 x 108 bolt pattern fitting my car. I was under the impression that an XKR was 5 x 112 therefore I will need to undertake some research before committing to purchase. Th wheels would suit a purpose for me in that I am looking for a set of wheels for winter use keeping, my chrome rimmed wheels free from the salt and !Removed! thrown on our roads during winter.

  5. Hi Steve and welcome to THE Jaguar OWNERS CLUB. I cannot give advice as such to the S Type due to the fact I own a XKR however, deflate those tyres before they blow on you that's far to high. I just done a google search which came back with 32psi therefore the lads have given you good advice above. As for the temperature gauge my 4.2ltr V8 gets up to half way within 2 miles and sits there for another 200 miles, very constant. Stick with the parrot, best hands free on the market. Looks like you need to get someone to look at your CD changer

  6. I would not have thought it to be a gearbox issue with you being able to select all gears easily however, my own feelings point to the clutch pressure plate. Occasionally you can get one that cracks or the likes. I believe you are making the right move by calling the AA out, at least you are getting a decent professional opinion even if you only get the option to be towed to a place of your choice then at least, you have the opportunity of picking a garage of choice rather than Halfrauds

  7. Hi Dean and a warm welcome to the Jaguar OWNERS CLUB. I recently purchased some new shoes for my XKR and I opted for Michelin Pilots with a good price being offered on my tyres.com

You purchase the tyres online (a wide choice) and choose the fitting centre nearest your location usually a National tyres Depot. They deliver there use choose the fitting date am/pm and the fit and balance free of charge
