  1. Happy Birthday Trevor, hope you have a great day. I've had a letter from the Benefits Agency advising me that due to the change in the law I cannot now retire until I've reached the grand old age of 67. Fortunately or more Unfortunately due to a serious industrial accident many years ago I have been deemed by the Medical Professors as being 45% disabled therefore, I believe I can retire a little earlier on medical grounds and my Mine workers pension which came out when I reached the age of 50.
  2. Hi Chris, Croeso (Welcome in English ) I like the look of the S Type reminds me of the old Mk.2 which of course was a icon and it sounds as if you have a lot of car for the money what can you get for £600? wow. If you have checked the fuse on the cig socket and its OK then check if there is voltage at the socket by using a voltage tester with positive probe at the socket and neg probe at a known good earth, if voltage is shown then use the neg probe at the socket. Its quite common on cig sockets to loos its earth
  3. I think you will find 1 of the sensors as gone. Have someone sit in the car and place in reverse with their foot on the brake whilst you kneel down and listen to the sensors 1 at a time. If you hear it clicking its fine if not then its likely that its gone. If 1 sensor is gone then the parking sensors will not work, they work / wired through a daisy chain style system. Hope this helps.
  4. Not the Jaguar, I've only owned the XKR for 2 weeks therefore, early days yet. However I did remap/chip my SLK32 (AMG) Mercedes and experienced a good increase of power and the limiters where taken off going through the gear changes etc giving a greater acceleration. I did not get any problems with it.
  5. Hello Bryn, with such a name I am going to make the assumption that you are a Welshman? English translation to Bryn = Hill. If so where are you from buddy? I'm up in Penderyn
  6. Parked up at Shobdon Airport Herefordshire today where I was working. Guess the car Manufacturer :D Note the multi=spoke wheels, they were really made out of wood. Not sure yet? The single back light really did have an oil container or candle holder. How engineering have progressed. Want another clue?

  8. Most main dealers of all makes pass the part ex's on to traders obviously there are exceptions
  9. Don't think you will find a car over 3 years old at Sratstone
  10. Know exactly what you are saying Peter I've also got an oil burner Mercedes CLK270 Cdi and that gives me a 50+ return to the gallon and thats with a turbo, pretty rapid car actually
  11. Thanks Peter my XKR is a 2002 model 4ltr with a supercharger not sure about 4.2 litre I haven't go the registration document as explained earlier but thought I had read 3995cc. My brother as just bought (2 weeks ago) the new F Type S coupe the rich git
  12. Thanks for that Peter, I'm even more confused now you see, I was under the impression that the XKR had a 4.0ltr engine I cannot consult my log boo because its with the DVLA having my private registration (hence forum name (KEN 33Y) transferred across from my Merc. However, I have just researched auto trader and the XKR is being advertised as 4.2 supercharged not 5.0ltr which appears to have come out in 2006 as an XKR-S I may be wrong. Was the difference between the XK8 and the XKR being the supercharger?

  15. Being new to Jaguar coming from a Mercedes background (AMG) a simple question that I'm sure someone can have a decent explanation of; What are or is the main differences between an XKR and a XK8? I note in the various forum sections XK8 is listed however, XKR appears to be ignored why?
