Sounds like a loose connection that is being pulled when the bulb is in place? Try re-seating the bulb and re-seating any spade connectors before re-fitting.

Good news, I was going to vote for a bearing.

A bit late to this one but I find driving in winter mode help with the economy. Stops the loud pedal being too active. Definitely avoid dynamic mode and sport if you are worried about economy :D

I've just had an MOT and reported the same issue. It turns out that I had uneven wear on the front tyres. 2 new tyres later, plus a 4 wheel alignment check all is fine (apart from a slow deflation on one of the new tyres but that's another issue.

There have been a couple of updates. I have the 2013 discs but the 2015 ones are now out. Easy to update, just swap the disc in the boot to the newer one. Turn on and after about 30 seconds of scary blank screen it all returned to life..
