Got my second S-Type
Seriously! :) They're both mine :) She's a 1966 3.8 with the Manual Overdrive, most of the welding is done, she needs a bit of tidying up though on the bodywork. Got bits of paperwork going back to the 70s, and more importantly... She has a current MoT and I get to drive her :)

Premium sound system including free installation
I swapped the CD player at the front with a minidisc player, so you could easily do it the other direction. It comes off of the nav screen If you do I would definitely take the.minidisc player off your hands, I'd like to have a spare.

S Type stereo and phone
Aye, I know it can be retrofitted :) I was trying to point out that the original poster was looking for Bluetooth on his car, but due to being a 53 plate he would have had a physical handset in the armrest should the car have the phone option, unless of course a previous owner had been one of us lot that retrofit things like mad :)

Didn't Bluetooth come in 2004? My 53 plate has a phone but it is the built in unit in the armrest

sat nav disc x type s type 2012
An old topic now, but doing some Googling /eBay searches on the Part number in order to try and find a genuine disc, I have discovered that the above disc isn't even the 2011/12 disc!! It is a copy of the 2008/09 disc that has had the years edited before printing! Really dodgy!

Still looking for the parts! :)

Fitting sat nav?
Strangely my satnav never displayed the messages in the message display area until I retrofitted Jaguarvoice....

I'll second that :) Very much looking forward to it! I may possibly be bringing 4 guests instead of two, but won't know for sure until the day

sat nav disc x type s type 2012
Well, the one I have been sent is definitely not right. I've attached a picture made up of three photographs. On the left, a genuine disc (seems a previous owner had updated to the 2008-2009 disc), on the right the one delivered. As can be seen the genuine disc has a glossy printed surface, the supplied disc has a flat matte surface consistent with a printable blank CD. The middle section shows the genuine disc on the left, this gold colour is consistent with a pressed disc created in a factory, the disc supplied is purple which is consistent with dye-based recordable media available to joe public. The supplied disc shows up as: Book Type: [DVD+R DL] - [ DVD-ROM] Manufacturer: [ Mitsubishi Kagaku Media ] Manufacturer ID: [MKM] To be fair this manufacturer ID is up in the top class of burnable media. And finally, on the right, the actual result. Not readable. In ten attempts at starting the car the supplied disc was recognised once, after a 25 second wait. The genuine disc is recognised immediately every time. So, there you go. Hopefully this post will be helpful for people. Essentially.......... Caveat Emptor :)

sat nav disc x type s type 2012
Received the disc today, the back of the disc is purple which would tend to indicate it's an aftermarket burnt one. The printing on the front is somewhat blurry as well. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. I've noticed in the past that the "burnt" discs I have used generally only work for a couple of months before my car would stop recognising them. Generally as time went on I would get longer wait times when the car started for the disc to be recognised and increasingly more and more "Not a map disc" errors before finally they'd just cease to work. The original disc that came with the car (2003MY) is still going strong. Disclaimer: Given the price difference I naturally was not really expecting to get a factory made disc, this is more in the nature of research :)

Thanks, have likewise ordered one.

voice commands
I retrofitted it to mine, easy job. Had to buy an extra fibre cable but that was it, everything clearly labelled. Have got heaps of photos from when I did it if you need them.

First couple of weeks of S-Type ownership
No worries. Yes there is a filter there, and a sleeve that should be replaced. TBH its the sort of Job you'd probably want to get done by a master tech, they can also upgrade the gearbox software in the process...

A nice present
Got given a bag of Jag goodies the other night by a former Jag owner, things like the original toolbox for an older XJ, cufflinks, an umbrella and this lovely desk ornament :)

First couple of weeks of S-Type ownership
You mention the trouble with the radiator, might be worthwhile as a precaution to have the transmission fluid checked for contamination. For quite some time I had been in the position of having to top up the coolant on a regular basis, it turned out it was getting from the radiator into the gearbox. Many thousands later I had a reconditioned gearbox and new radiator. Now many people will point out that this problem affects the diesels and not the petrol models. Sadly this isn't the case, mine is the 2.5 petrol......

Shell v power fuel
Mine is only the 2.5 S-Type so naturally won't be as thirsty as some of its brethren, but I'm regularly getting an indicated average 32mpg during my daily commute, and the time I drove it to Glasgow (Via the Lake District) to play at the World Pipe Band Championships it got to over 40, which I was quite pleased with :)
