  1. Hi Shaun When you say you can't get it to connect, what do you mean. Is the hose outlet a different size, in a different place ? best regards Phil
  2. So did another scan today and it says P1000. I deleted the code and the car now drives better than it has since ive had the car.. Looked up the code and it relates to an OBD drive cycle being incomplete. I presume that that light will probably come on again some point, when it does I will follow the instructions to complete the cycle. Hopefully I am getting somwhere.
  3. So car drove really well this morning for about 30 miles and yes you guessed it, light came on. Also noticed that the tickover has now climbed to 1200rpm Any ideas.
  4. Just thought I would give a quick update. I replaced the sensor today an managed to fit it from the top. removing the screen cowl made its a bit easier but job done, no light
  5. Good evening Peter Thanks for replying. It was finger trouble. I realised after while that I was clicking on the wrong bar. I changed the O2 sensor on my X type today and no engine warning so I am now chuffed.. I am now going to use it for my daily commute, 100 miles a day and see if it proves reliable. Thanks again best regards Phil
  6. I have recently bought a tidy 2002 2.1 X Type SE. I now have everything working and she has tidied up nicely. It does have one fault that needs to be addressed. I have the Engine light on and the readout from the scanner is P1646. I understand that this relates to Bank 1 sensor 1, again I believe that this is the upstream sensor on the firewall side and is located in the exhaust manifold. I am getting conflicting info as to how to change it. Some insist that it can be replaced from below, others are equally adamant that the inlet manifold has to be removed to get to it. My question is has anyone actually replaced this one. best regards Phil
  7. Good evening all. Have just joined. I have had a number of jaguars over the years. My first was a 63 S Type which I totally restored and then sold it to buy my first XJ. Several series 2's and no less than four series 3's, followed by an XJ 40 which I have to say was a faithful servant for a few years. My last XJ was an X300 which was just stunning. Sadly that had to go two years ago when I was made redundant. I have recently bought a 2.1 X Type SE. Really chuffed with it and now have everything working. It does have an o2 sensor that needs replacing but drives well. Still going to have to get another XJ when funds permit. Can anyone tell me how to access the X type forum, I have been around the site but cant seem to get in best regards Phil
