Auxiliary heater

Featured Replies

Well, I thought that replacing the corrugated exhaust pipe to my auxiliary heater had solved the fumes problem but... not so.

Roughly five minutes after starting from cold the car is enveloped with acrid white smoke / fumes which also smoke out the inside of the car unless the recirculation button is set.

It's definitely to do with the aux heater. When I pull fuse 3 it doesn't happen.

I'm not at all convinced that it has anything to do with adding a restriction in the fuel flow and was wondering whether anybody had any ideas please?

We'll be thankfull its working?

1-- it all depends which way the wind is blowing

2 the idea is when you switch the engine on, you usually get on the move and the fumes disperse?

3- it only circulates in the cabin if the car is stationary and wind conditions direct it to the cabin?

PS is your manual webasto start up working ok? I am going to follow your mod this week!

Stan

FYI it's fuse F3, top left hand side of under bonnet fuse box.

I removed mine yesterday as swmbo complained the the fumes got on her chest.
