XF 2015 pulling to the left

Afternoon,

my XF r-sport 2015 started pulling to the left. I've just had 2 new front tyres fitted and a 4wheel alignment. At first it appeared to be cured but on the motorway at 50MPH+, once I let go of the steering wheel it immediately sets off to the left. In my opinion it's too severe to blame the camber of the road, I'd expect it to hold straight for a short distance at least.

any ideas? It's booked in a Jaguar tomorrow but I'm slightly anxious as u could do without the potential financial burden.

king of regards

Ricky

hi

have you checked the tyre pressures, can make quite a difference on a heavy car

Ive known them sometimes not to seal on the rim and one might have a slight leak

just check the tyres as well, if there directional, some times they have rotation arrow on them

the tyre fitters should of checked these, but they might of got missed

cheers

Joe

Hi Ricky,

Did you ever get this sorted and if so what was the cause?

I have a 2013 Xf with about 45k on the clock.

I have similar problems and so far my Xf has been inspected in 3 differnet places. They all say they can see there is a problem but don't know what is causing it. They have even replaced the front bushes under warranty but this has had no effect.

I am convinced my problem started after I hit a pothole on the front left.

Any advice would be welcome.

Many thanks,

Jonathan

Hi Stjean and Welcome to the Club,

If after checking the tyres and wheel balance you still have the problem it may be an idea to check and clean the brake calliper operation to see if it releasing pressure on both sides of the disk after taking your foot off the pedal. Sometimes the slides or guide pins can get a little sticky with dirt and or corrosion which can lead to the symptoms you're seeing.

As to your lights question; not a clue, sorry. However, I would first of all check out Jaguar to see if they offer these options and whether they can be supplied or fitted. After that I'm afraid you'll be looking at kit from elsewhere - perhaps talk to Halfords?

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Cubist and Stjean,

Many thanks for your replies. Just a quick update.

I have spoken to a family friend who is a mechanic and he advised me to go to a specific wheel alignment shop he uses. I went to the guy who checked wheel alignment  and it was massively off (especially on the lhs)- even after having being done in 2 other places.

The only problem now is that the wheel is no longer straight but the pull is much less. I brought it back and asked him to redo it. I watched the whole process and the wheel was definitely straight during the alignment but not afterwards. Bizarre!

I am bringing the car to the mechanic relative on Thursday who is keen to drive and see it. I will ask him to check the brake callipers as you mentioned cubist.

I'll let you know how Thursday goes. Fingers crossed!

Joric
