2014 xfs sportbrake washer pump
TheADHDFishkeeper replied to TheADHDFishkeeper's topic in Jaguar XF Club
I have just been and collected a multimeter up from tool station. I tested the fuse box where the washer pump fuse goes and sure enough its reading a flat 0 when I press the button on the stalk for the washers. Just as a control I also tested where the fuse goes for the wiper motor which worked perfectly showing 14 something odd volt. - Yesterday

I only have just brought this XK8 convertible is a 2002 with 64000 miles, it is in the garage have some work done to it. One of the things is the remote does not work; we have replaced the Security Module in the boot and now the remote will pair. It will open the Boot and flash the lights but will still not open the or lock the doors. Has anyone got any ideas. Thank you

fixing a cylinder head gasket leak temporarily
JustBadly replied to Shadowfax's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
Only the gasket rings (2) I think you can just about access them without removing manifold casting. When you have one actuator removed, test it with 12v to check it's function and don't get the loom connectors mixed up between the upper and lower actuator. -
Probably not vehicle specific, but best refer to original supplier's website for more information. If it's a towbar mounted version, probably good for most vehicles with a towbar fitted. N6 JMX

Thanks that is spot on

Given JLRs recent hacking problems, it might be more expedient to consult your friendly local independent Jag specialist. Often such specialists will have a stock of good used units on the shelf and will of course be able to fit/program as needed for your car.

What's this random connector in engine bay?
MikeSmith3 replied to MikeSmith3's topic in Jaguar XF Club
For anyone who is wondering... Beneath the fuel filter is a connector that this blue socket fits into. Oddly in my car (XF X250) although the connector is there, there are no pins to mate with this socket so redundant. I assume some modules fuel filters have an electrical connection to this plug but mine doesn't. -
I have a year 2000 Jag S Type 3ltr V6 Auto. It has the metal gearbox pan, not the plastic all in one filter type. There is a lot of conflicting info about but what fluid should I use to do a filter and fluid change. Is it mineral or synthetic and can anyone give me an idea of where to get it without paying over the top, which Ive also heard is quite common. Thanks in advance for any info you can help with.

Daimler Vanden Plas Double Six HE 1983
Freebird Paul replied to Dennis Richards's topic in Jaguars For Sale & Wanted
Hello Dennis, I am looking at your car and getting interested in the possibility of buying it. I have a few questions: 1. Still available? 2, If the answer to 1 is yes, please confirm current mileage? 3. Please confirm how many owners including yourself? 4. How long in your ownership? 5. The MOT history looks really good with no mention of any corrosion, however please let me know if you have had any corrosion correction work done. Finally, if you have them please send me more pictures of the car showing the engine bay, boot area and underside. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Paul. -

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? -
Yes it will as it is purely mechanical.🙄

Oils are difficult to get right. You can spend hours on line reading about the different varieties of oil and the different specs etc and only end up with less knowledge than what you started with . My general rule with oils is get the specification as close as you can and by a good quality oil... sorry I cant be more helpful than that

Cheers and thanks for your help

jezz6570 replied to jezz6570's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
Thanks joe But as previously said mechanicals and body work i can do electrics is not my thing. May try to get a wnd hand unit from an xf and see if it will work -
Biggest factory option was 18" We dealer fitted Arden 19" alloys for a while but discovered that they could hit the rear arches, damaging both the tyre and the wheel arch. I seem to remember that 'rolling' the rear arches allowed the 19's to fit and not cause damage when it went over bumps. Personally, I wouldn't go bigger than 18 anyway.

I've just had full 80,000 mile service with cam belt replacement and gearbox service by a Jag specialists for £1800 which I thought was well worth it as I've never paid a garage in 45 years of motoring to service or repair my car. Some one's definitely had your pants down, don't understand why they double flushed was this to double the price.

So I've owned my Jaguar for around a month and when I first got it I put all 6 disks inside the rear boot multidisc casette/case , after around 2 weeks an error message appeared when selecting the CDC button on the centre console , it was 'CDC Error' , after having a look the number 5 slot was jammed selected and wouldn't come out and the casette was jammed in , when pressing the eject button it was still stuck inside and was jammed , after trying for around 10 minutes it finally ejected , knowing this I didn't put a disc in slot 5 and now it is still becoming jammed? Any advice/Help? Or does this sound like a common issue and may be a case of replacing the unit and or CD case?
