  4. Hi John, first up you need to understand the variations. You say you are looking for an XK8, which goes by the model designation X-100. Then you indicate you would like a model from around 2010, which would be the X-150 model. The X-100 was built between 1996 and 2005, whereas the X-150 model was built between 2006 and 2014 / 2015. For 2010, you would be looking at a 5.0 litre engined car, available as either a Coupe or Convertible. My preference is the Convertible, but to each their own. There is also the choice, in both models, for the naturally aspirated XK8 / New XK, or the supercharged XKR. The X-100 is a steel bodied car, with specific areas prone to corrosion that you would need to be aware of, whilst the X-150 is an aluminium architecture and body, with minimal corrosion elements, but still needs to be carefully checked. There are quite a number of good You Tube videos on the merits of the X-150 which you could seek out, but the best advice is to go and see as many cars as you can locate to get a "feel" for them. If you are a Jaguar buying novice, then try and take someone with you who knows what they are looking at. The X-150 cars are typically available these days from circa £10k to +£30k and obviously you get what you pay for. There are currently 18 X-150 cars for sale on the JEC Classifieds, the JEC is the largest Jaguar Club in the world. The link below should take you to the list of Classifieds at the JEC site. There's also lots of other information there, but most of it only accessible to the members, but worth the fee in my opinion. jec.org.uk/classifieds/index.php?page=cars-for-sale&category=1608 Simple adage, buy the best you can afford, but keep your eyes open and seek advice if unsure. The JEC can arrange for inspections by local enthusiasts' knowledgeable about the particular model, but again I think that needs you to join the Club. If you find anything of interest meantime, come back here and post a link thta folks can check out on your behalf. Good Luck. N6 JMX
  5. My X type deserves a fluid flush on the gearbox, it's a 2002 pretty sure it's on the same oil it was delivered with. Any Norfolk / Cambridgeshire / Suffolk recommendations?

The vehicle's six-cylinder engine and comprehensive set of features make it a desirable pick for enthusiasts and collectors alike. MOT expired Jan 2025 had new pads and discs needs radiator repair.
  9. Have owned this car for 15 years and this time just not going to make through MOT without money being spent so relunctantly decided to sell as project or spare parts
  10. No problem, don't get me wrong, you can find many of these engines without any issues, but I think more often than not, they are problematic. until 2019 when they finally fixed the issues

  12. Silly me, thanks👍
  13. Hi David, advice on battery replacement is 5 years and it has to be suspect, despite what a battery test might say. A good catch as most folks ignore the advice and end up with dashboard lighting up light Blackpool in September. N6 JMX

  15. Hi Craig, welcome to the Forum. Appreciate that Ardnamurchan is probably a long way from anywhere (I am in Banchory in Aberdeenshire so know the feeling) but there is a Jaguar Gathering - The Scottish Jaguar Enthusiasts' Day - being held at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow on Saturday the 28th of June 2025. Over 100 Jaguars and their owners on the esplanade of the Riverside Museum from all over Scotland and further afield - even have some coming from "down south". There's more information further down the Forum pages under "Events", but you can also send me a PM with your email address and I can provide more information. N6 JMX
  16. Good point well presented. 😁
  17. Or this forum doesn't show who actually responded or reacted to my posts, all it says is 'somebody'... Can't see who reacted neither? Another thing, when want to see new post in the thread, it always shows first post in the thread insread if the last unread, regadless if thread has 1 or 20 pages. Is there a way to change it? Or it will change with me earning points, badges as I go?
  18. They should be available online to download
  19. I would buy whole set s you're changing tyres anyway👍
  20. **2001 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 V6 SE Automatic - Low Mileage | Twin Tow Bar | Modern Classic** This rare early Y-reg Jaguar X-Type 2.5 V6 SE Automatic has just 67,000 miles on the clock and is a superb example of a modern classic with great potential. It's smooth, mechanically sound, and well cared for perfect as a characterful daily driver, weekend cruiser, or light restoration project. Under the bonnet is a silky-smooth V6 engine that starts first time and runs beautifully. It's had a recent oil change, new air filter, and a new battery. The original automatic gearbox was replaced with a unit from a 2008 model, improving drive quality and long-term reliability. A twin electric tow bar was professionally fitted less than five years ago and used lightly to tow a small caravan for one year always within the car's capabilities. The car is currently SORN and hasn't been on the road since its last MOT expired in September 2023. Up to that point, it consistently passed its MOTs and has been regularly started and maintained during this off-road period. Inside, everything works as it should electric windows, lights, and the original Jaguar cassette stereo. The interior is clean and complete, with some tasteful trim upgrades (original parts included for purists). A full-size spare wheel is also included. Cosmetically, it's in fair condition for its age with some marks, paint blemishes, and a few age-related quirks (e.g. bonnet release cable and coolant reservoir would benefit from minor attention). Main cosmetic damage photographed. It presents well and drives even better. Highlights: Just 67,000 miles Strong, smooth-running V6 engine Replacement 2008 gearbox Professionally fitted twin electric tow bar Recently serviced - oil, filter, and battery Interior upgrades (original parts included) Full service history up to 2022 Walkaround video available on request Originally owned by an elderly lady in the South of England, this Jaguar was kept garaged and carefully driven. I've owned it since 33,000 miles and maintained it with care, including regular oil changes even when not in frequent use. A solid, low-mileage example of a future classic with comfort, character, and plenty of life left in it. Ideal for the enthusiast, collector, or anyone wanting something unique, reliable, and unmistakably British. IMG_4558.mov
  21. Have just replaced the tyre repair kit with a space saver after coming across a very helpful thread on this forum, so decided to join.
  22. I just joined this forum to specifically thank the op of this thread. Was in the same situation as having the tyre repair kit which was a much use as a chocolate tea pot when I had a blow out last year on a remote road in West Wales. Will spare you the details, but after coming across this thread whilst searching the internet, I can confirm all the parts mentioned are correct. I even checked with my nearby dealer to get a quote. They quoted £1500 for everything. Thanks to ebay and this thread, I got everything for less than half of the dealer quote. Just to add to the details of the load floor upper, the part number mentioned by Jaguar is T2H15351PVJ and this came on the packaging. When I went to buy this on ebay, there were 2 items advertised, however only one of them had the GX63-47022-AE number on it. The cheaper one had the number for the tyre repair kit version which I could just make out on the ebay pics. The seller I bought from specialises in JLR parts and even confirmed the carpet would fit after supplying my VIN.
  23. Now then, now then, jingle jangle chrome. 😁
  24. Hi there, what you are reading it with? Bear in mind cheaper dongles etc (if it's the case) usually are not able to read all modules as they don't have required protocols
  25. Hi N6 JMX thanks - really kind of you to come back. I’ve tried undocking / repairing / turning off / restarting phone / deleting Bluetooth links / turning round 3 time etc etc. it’s either - Invery unit faulty - seems unlikely - socket to wire to radio faulty… seems unlikely - somethings changed in stereo - unlikely - somethings changed in Bluetooth link - possible Do you have a similar unit - has that survived the IOS upgrade? Thx g
  26. Fair enough🤣
