  2. Hi, I am Newbie to Jaguar Forum. I have 2009 X Type 2.2 Diesel SE DPF, 93 k miles. Have had this car for nearly 2 years and the Cigarette lighter/auxiliary socket does not work. The fuse was blown and when replaced, the power socket worked for a few seconds, then fuse blew & flattened the battery completely in seconds. Charged Battery and Socket still not working. Looks like the fuse is powered live constantly. Think should be powered with the ignition circuit. any ideas how to fix this problem ?

  5. I am looking for a used automatic petrol or petrol/hybrid Jaguar which has fold down rear seats and a reasonable sized boot but still has style i.e. not a 'Chelsea Taxi'! Which model should I choose?
  6. Green (where The Wombles lived )
  7. I had a similar problem with my S Type and the mechanic found a perished vacuum tube (black rubber 10mm approx) going to the engine block. On replacement, the problem went away.
  8. Can the lads in Jaguar, Solihull not help?
  9. Wimbledon (when i was a kid i misunderstood the lyrics of the Wombles theme tune - instead of "Wombles of Wimbledon" i thought it was "Wonderland Wimbledon". Strange link i know...........)

  11. Hi Kadir, do you know the age of the battery in your car? If it were still the original, then a suggestion to fit a new battery - and tell the car via the OBD port that a new battery has been installed - would be number 1 on my list. Modern cars, especially Jaguars, are extremely sensitive to battery voltage spikes and the battery's ability to start the car is no longer the prime indicator that the battery is still fit for purpose. After the battery reaches 5 years old, it needs to be considered for replacement - even if your local garage does a test and says it's fine! Receiving multiple, apparently random, error messages is a first sign that all is not well with the vehicle's battery. There are others - such as Stop / Start being inoperative for lengthy periods. Consider changing the battery for a correct rated replacement if you are unsure of the battery's age. N6 JMX

  14. Hello, Multiple errors suddenly appeared on my 2017 Jaguar FPACE and they persist: Restricted performance ASPC not available Stability control not available AEB not available Forward alert not available What could I do and what is the solution? What Could it be related to ?
  15. Hi Wesley, might I suggest you list your registration for sale in the Jaguar Marketplace section of the Forum, look further down the list of Sections and you will find the right place. Listing the registration in the XF section is not the place where folks looking to buy stuff are going to go to first. Plus, one more post in the XF section and your post disappears off the top spot, never to be seen again. Just a suggestion. N6 JMX
  16. I have on retention the plate X25OXF or X250 XF if you wished to space it so. i purchased this direct from DVLA about 17 years ago. It’s for sale so judging whether there is some interest out there. The plate is for sale at £1500. Thanks Wes
  17. Hi Retsof, be very careful with these plug in updates - they have in the past caused significant issues with the control system in Jaguars. N6 JMX
  18. Thanks John, should have a chance to get to it this weekend, it's running fine at the moment. annoyingly. At least if it just broke I could fix it.
  19. I bought this usb update on line from UK-Navi-Expert, purchased through Evri and on plugging it in, requires a login code. AMA devised I should send my VIN number to the manufacturer to get the code. Unable to get through to UK-Navi-Expert@ gmail.com maybe there is a standard code for this? Anyone have any ideas, or a better contact address for the manufacturer?
  20. Hi Andy, given that the headlining of a convertible is not affixed to a board, but more akin to a tent, it might be possible to have a decent upholsterer make you a new headlining using the old one as a template. You could then make it in Alcantara or other exotic material as you desire. For the A-pillars and top rail, there was an article in the March 2021 issue of the JEC magazine regarding recovering these with a faux leather purchased from eBay. If you don't have access to the back copies of the magazine - they are available online digitally for JEC members - drop me a PM with your email address and I will see if I can forward you a copy.
