Big John replied to Mr Singh's topic in Jaguar Parts and Accessories For Sale & Wanted
Hi Nanak https://www.vehiclerevolution.com/products/jaguar-xf-xfr-xfrs-rear-diffuser-black-abs-plastic-2008-2015 or think you need both of the below..... https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-C2Z16212--SelectedCurrency-1 https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-C2Z16211 Regards John -
Hi Alex Have you looked for any stored error codes since the original problem? Only other thing that I can think of is that the replacement pump needs to be paired or coded to the car. Maybe this will help with the fuel gauge issue: Regards John

Fuel filter?

Hi All, I'm at my wits end with this issue, I've had an odd issue in that when the car was on idle for a while or in very slow moving traffic I'd lose power almost completely and barely be able to pull away. After getting up to speed (eventually) the problem would go away, I thought it might be the pump in the tank as that died and the engine stopped but there were no errors on the dash or codes to read. I found there were a couple of corroded connections on the plug which I cleaned and repaired and that got the pump running again but it didn't seem to be moving fuel so I replaced the pump and managed to get the engine started and running again but now I get a fuel pump system fault on the dash. I've checked the pump, applied the fix from the official jag bulletin about the small black plugs failing and still getting the error although the car starts and runs. I've metered the sensors in the tank and they seem to be reading correctly as far as I can tell. I can hear the pump running to prime and when the engine is running but I still get the error and the fuel gauge showing empty. I'm concerned the in tank pump will cut out again as it has done once since it was replaced leaving us standing on the side of the motorway in the rain waiting for the RAC. My next guess would be a broken or frayed wire somewhere but from what I can tell the cable disappears through the rear bulkhead into the boot. I thought I'd ask for some advice before I start dismantling the car completely looking for a broken wire. an help would be greatly apreciated Alex

Hi, I am now the proud owner of a 1998 (yes, that's right) beautiful XKR 4.0 convertible but the rear view mirror is so degraded it is useless. There are lots of 2nd hand rear view mirrors on Ebay for later models, but none for 1996-1998 models. My question is, does the specific year matter or are these mirrors reasonably interchangeable?

Had a similar problem on a peugot 206cc turned out there was a bearing sitting on top of the strut that had cracked after the previous owner hit a pothole. Think from memory there is a rubber damper on the top of the strut on the jags also

Not sure I’ll give him a call 👍

Have you had the shock absorber top mount checked not sure if there is a bush or a bearing

Hi everyone, further to my previous post I have now had new drop links fitted and anti roll bar rubber bushes, the knocking noise has certainly reduced to the point I thought it was cured, however driving today I can still hear it although greatly reduced. The jag mechanic says he has checked all joints and everything is good, but there is obviously something even my granddaughter asked me what the noise was, I’m now wondering if it could be worn brake calliper pins, has anyone any further thoughts. Many thanks

2014 xfs sportbrake washer pump
TheADHDFishkeeper replied to TheADHDFishkeeper's topic in Jaguar XF Club
I have just been and collected a multimeter up from tool station. I tested the fuse box where the washer pump fuse goes and sure enough its reading a flat 0 when I press the button on the stalk for the washers. Just as a control I also tested where the fuse goes for the wiper motor which worked perfectly showing 14 something odd volt. -

2014 xfs sportbrake washer pump
TheADHDFishkeeper replied to TheADHDFishkeeper's topic in Jaguar XF Club
Thanks mate, yes it could be possible that is the case, im replacing the washer pump today when the new one arrives, so before I do il pick up a voltage tester and test at multiple points. Aswell as tracking down the earth, thankfully its only the windscreen washer pumps affected and nothing more. -
Hi Thomas, I am a believer in the fault likely arises from the last action you took - you removed the washer pump and put it back into place - therefore by my thinking you have likely disturbed some element of the power supply wiring, most likely the earth. But perhaps that's just me being optimistic. Don't spiral to conclusions until you can get a meter onto the pump terminals to confirm you have the correct voltages where they should be. N6 JMX

Hello all, i noticed yesterday that my xf had a leak from the windscreen wash bottle, at this point the washer pumps for the headlights and windscreens were still working. I pulled the arch liner back to access the pump, I could see that it was leaking from the rubber grommet/filter on the pump. I removed the pump from the bottle but kept it plugged in to its power supply, I managed to seal it back up and stop the leak temporarily until the new one arrives. However upon driving my xf today I have noticed neither the washer pump for the windscreens or the pump for the headlights to be working, I have checked the fuse under the bonnet (f6 30a fuse) and its still intact. I dont dare disconnect the battery to check the bcm in the drivers footwell, im hoping its something simple, am I in denial that the bcm has infact been corrupted?

I only have just brought this XK8 convertible is a 2002 with 64000 miles, it is in the garage have some work done to it. One of the things is the remote does not work; we have replaced the Security Module in the boot and now the remote will pair. It will open the Boot and flash the lights but will still not open the or lock the doors. Has anyone got any ideas. Thank you

fixing a cylinder head gasket leak temporarily
JustBadly replied to Shadowfax's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
Only the gasket rings (2) I think you can just about access them without removing manifold casting. When you have one actuator removed, test it with 12v to check it's function and don't get the loom connectors mixed up between the upper and lower actuator. -
Probably not vehicle specific, but best refer to original supplier's website for more information. If it's a towbar mounted version, probably good for most vehicles with a towbar fitted. N6 JMX

Thanks that is spot on

Given JLRs recent hacking problems, it might be more expedient to consult your friendly local independent Jag specialist. Often such specialists will have a stock of good used units on the shelf and will of course be able to fit/program as needed for your car.
