JimJag started following XE Petrol crankshaft pulley failure.

XE petrol, 250hp, auto, (X760) 2018, only done 32K. Whilst driving back from Southampton in the UK, battery and charging system error pops up on dashboard. A/C stops working so I turn it off. Charging message disappears. Turn A/C on again, still not working but charging error reappears. I start to smell something hot, burning. Got close to home and engine overheating warning pops up. Lots of blue smoke behind car. Reverse into my driveway and stop engine. Serious amount of smoke, lift bonnet and coolant bubbling away. Left vehicle alone for about 3 hours to allow it to cool down. Returned to the car and found the problem straight away. Crankshaft pulley has become detached from its hub and the grooved outer part has slipped forwards. The charging, A/C and water pump were not being driven by the slipping grooved outer part of the pulley. So, that's the problem. I'm quite capable of doing the work myself but there is a lack of information in the form of workshop manuals or even my usual goto, YouTube. Can anyone offer advice or direct me to a source of material that would step me through the process of swapping the crankshaft pulley on an XE Sport 250?

Dear Owners, I am looing to make some front bumper brackets for my Jaguar. Looks like no one sells them any more. I am looking to take some photos and measurements of exists model so I can make the brackets myself. I live about 15miles south of Doncaster (Everton DN10 5BN). If there is anyone within a reasonable radius who have a 1962-64 ML2 3.4 or 3.8l who wouldn't mind me taking some measurements of the brackets it would be greatly appreciated. Alternative does anyone have dimensions drawings. The brackets are 3 pieces on each side. Item 9 on the diagram. Many thanks

Hi, Try as my garage may, they reset the service due indication, see the 'in progress' and 'completed' message and after a couple of days, up it pops again! And the same thing happens when I try to reset it with open bonnet, open drivers door, throttle and brake pedal etc, 'in progress' and 'completed' but a couple of days later, back comes the service due message. Ideas and options most welcome - please. 🤔😆😒

If you have a friendly local Jaguar Dealer, though scarce on the ground, you can get a code from there associated with your VIN. Alternatively, there are any number of scam artists on the interweb offering to unlock radio codes. N6 JCM

I have 2007 late S Type R. The car went in for its annual service at my local Jag dealer. When I got the car back, the fuel gauge needle was no longer parked to the left 10 o’clock position. The needle is now all over the place, pointing at random hours on the clock face, sometimes upside down. The dealer put it in engineering mode and reset it, but this hasn’t proven to work and is now reading 12 o’clock with a full tank. Has anyone experienced anything similar and with a solution that can be shared please. Many thanks. Best, Rob

Hi everyone… I’m a newbie and also to Jaguar (well since Jan). I’m just enquiring if anyone has had an issue with their windscreens? My 9 year old put her feet on the dash (when parked) and accidentally tapped the windscreen, which then cracked it. It’s concerning it could break so easily- unless there was a weak spot. Jaguar have said they will inspect it (after some cajoling) although it’s been 2 months and they still haven’t got around to it so I’ve organised an appointment myself with a local dealership. This leads me onto the next question- has anyone had any dealings with the Head Office/ Client Care? Thank you in advance.

Just an update, , , , , ,I have now done an Ohm's check on the replacement injector & that checks out ok, I checked the others while I was at it & all good, But even more annoying that the old one I took out also checks as ok as well, So that'll end up going back in to save me a coding job.
-
Hi, I am having issues with one injector not working, I have changed it with a 2nd hand one & that hasn't resolved the issue as that seems not to be working either (no clacking sound), Have checked for voltage getting to it with the key in the on position expecting 12 volts but it's only showing 5.3 volts, I then checked all the others & they also read only 5.3 volts but those injectors are working fine, I wanted to check the circuit for the pulse signal but my 12v test lamp wont work at that low voltage. So a couple of questions really, firstly is this 5.3volt reading normal?, & secondly Assuming my problem is maybe a pulse issue is there a common cause for it?, , , , , Many thanks.

Sheldonbeldon started following My new SWB 2003 Jaguar Super V8- need DVD help!

Hi everyone, I just bought a 2003 SWB super v8 and it’s a fantastic car. It has jagdroid installed, although I’m unsure if that has anything to do with the issue I’m facing. The tvs in the headrests are displaying “video signal is not correct” when I’m trying to play a dvd. I have a disc inserted- i think there’s a remote I’m missing that would perhaps solve this issue. Please could anyone advise? My 7-year old is very excited to watch frozen on the way to Wales tomorrow and I don’t want her to be disappointed. I went on a 4 straight hour journey to and from wales yesterday just to check it was running well at around 75 mph the whole way without stopping. I did burn a little oil, maybe 250ml but I think that’s probably to be expected? Thanks all.
