  3. Hi You could at one time buy a unit to make them fold on lock you can make one with a few relays if your handy with electronic message me as I have wiring diagrams on how to make them I made one for mine many years ago cheers Joe
  4. Biggest factory option was 18" We dealer fitted Arden 19" alloys for a while but discovered that they could hit the rear arches, damaging both the tyre and the wheel arch. I seem to remember that 'rolling' the rear arches allowed the 19's to fit and not cause damage when it went over bumps. Personally, I wouldn't go bigger than 18 anyway.

  6. What is the biggest wheel size can I put on my Jaguar X Type ?
  7. Thank you, Big John
  8. I've just had full 80,000 mile service with cam belt replacement and gearbox service by a Jag specialists for £1800 which I thought was well worth it as I've never paid a garage in 45 years of motoring to service or repair my car. Some one's definitely had your pants down, don't understand why they double flushed was this to double the price.
  9. So I've owned my Jaguar for around a month and when I first got it I put all 6 disks inside the rear boot multidisc casette/case , after around 2 weeks an error message appeared when selecting the CDC button on the centre console , it was 'CDC Error' , after having a look the number 5 slot was jammed selected and wouldn't come out and the casette was jammed in , when pressing the eject button it was still stuck inside and was jammed , after trying for around 10 minutes it finally ejected , knowing this I didn't put a disc in slot 5 and now it is still becoming jammed? Any advice/Help? Or does this sound like a common issue and may be a case of replacing the unit and or CD case?

  11. Thank you for the reply. The reason i asked this question is on my 52 s type se+ the wing mirrors folded on locking from the keyfob. Also my 08 xf does the same. Is it possible to fit the xf module to and s type.as would prefer a plug and play solution rather than play around with it myself .mechanics and body work i can do . Electrics is s dark art
  12. On the S-Type (incl. ’07), powerfolds are button only from the factory, there’s no OEM “fold on lock” setting to turn on in IDS/SDD. If the switch folds them, your hardware’s fine; to get auto-fold you’ll need an add-on module (or a simple relay/timer) that pulses the fold wire off the lock/double-lock signal...plenty of plug-in kits out there, or a DIY if you’re handy with the DDM wiring.
  13. Hi all. Looking for some info. I have a 2007(56) 2.7d s type s I has folding mirrors but i cannot get them to fold in automatically when i lock the car. Manual folding works fine. Am i or is the car missing something . . Many thanks
  14. I have listed my Jaguar S Type for sale by auction on EBAY - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/146895997363 but would be willing to negotiate a straight sale and end on the auction early. It is a Jaguar S Type 3.4 1967 – Rare Automatic Gold with original burgundy interior Family owned for the past 28 years has always been kept in a heated garage. Good history file with the car. Full body respray in approximately 2004, however the paint will require a bit of attention here and there. Original interior in excellent condition, getting hard to find cars of this age with such clean original interiors. Clock showing 85,427 miles Webasto roof, believed to be factory fitted. Drove into the shed 18 years ago, and has not moved since, so will require recommissioning to get back on the road. That being said, I am not a mechanic, and I do not have the time to get it going, so it is sold as sits. he car is sold in good faith, but no warranty is given nor implied, the onus being on any potential buyer to satisfy themselves of the condition of the car before purchase. That being said this car recommissioned will be a fabulous example of a rare Jaguar. Car is located in County Clare and can be delivered at additional pre-agreed cost.
  15. I have now received the mirrors, which interestingly came from Taiwan. They look fabulous before I offer them to the car. Just for your information, I know it was my risk, but they are quite a long way from being an acceptable fit. I have asked for fitting advice in case I am being stupid, but I fully expect them to be going back to Taiwan; they are very rigid, and the OEM one I am trying to replace was quite springy. I will keep everyone informed as to the progress. These cost £90, and that was fine for a good fitting part, so does anyone know of an alternative source, cos I think I will need one. Even if the current supplier does what other long-distance suppliers sometimes do and say keep the parts and or? as it is, too expensive to return them, I don't think I could make them fit without damaging the chromed edges and leaving them prone to plastic/ chrome corrosion or festering whatever happens, or is it still stable if it has been filed and trimmed? 16. hope this is allowed... only selling because dvla took licence away because of the prescription medication I'm on see it here.... https://ebay.us/m/2gyvZe thanks
  17. Hi Kevin, it would be helpful if you gave a bit more information about the diff issue to allow folks to assess what type of service / assistance you might need. From memory, there was an episode of "Salvage Hunters Classic Cars" with Paul Cowland taking a differential to a specialist who worked from his garden shed in the Northeast of England. This guy completely rebuilt the diff - is that the level of service you are seeking? N6 JMX

  23. Hi Andy , well chuffed you finally got your jag back on the road , They can be a nightmare at times REGARDS Dave 62
  24. Welcome aboard Andy, glad to hear your success story and long may that continue!
  25. In that case, it's probably an old code, read the codes again, check there's nothing new and then erase them. Drive the car as normal and see if the codes and charge warning light come back. If the code does come back with the charge warning light, you'll have to take it to where the alternator was fitted, it should have come with some sort of warranty
  26. Oops! Finger trouble - sorry. The car is here. Martin
