I got a Yuasa battery from work.It was £117 including vat cost price about a month ago and got a local garage to fit it while the car was being serviced.I work for a large scottish motor factor and it helps...sometimes.

I'd still buy from Tayna, still the best supplier. Im not surprised though, because you quoted someone called 'Tanya', whoever she is 😉 😂

Its hit and miss with batteries, they all have deals on at certain times I just bought a Varta 019 AGM from BMS and it was £20 cheaper than Tanya great service though, they always come next day.

Car needs scanning with SDD first off. Problem could be electronic, issue with gearbox or likely torque converter. Sounds like an electronic issue somewhere to me, hence the SDD scan.

All the trim pops off. I have piano black and one piece was chipped by the previous owner. The individual trim bits are widely available on the net. I bought a replacement part off ebay. I dunno £20 or so....and 1 min fitting it. Happy days

I did this to spray the plastic chrome bits on the top of the fake vents. Make sure you rub the 'chrome' down with very fine wet and dry paper, to give the paint something to adhere too. Also use a plastic primer on it before top coat of black. Happy days.

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Anyone remapped a 5.0 (naturally aspirated) XK?
alex7127 replied to Garry1127's topic in Jaguar Technical
A gearbox remap may be better for you, considering the modest gains with an engine remap. I have had my XFR remapped and pullies changed on SC. I have about 600hp and 700nm torque. This doesnt make the car undriveable, you just have to learn 'how' to drive this sort of power. Coincidentally it has improved my mpg. Combined is about 28mpg. As for 'ride' my R is perfectly smooth. With the trick suspension it's comfortable just cruising around and sharpens itself up with enthusiastic driving. So you get the best of both worlds. If your NA has the trick suspension, then there will be no difference in ride between it and the R version. -
Take them off and spray them with a rattle can. Use a trim removal tool to gently prise the fake vents off. They are held on with about 5 press trim clips

Thank you! I'll take a look.

Hi James, for the F-Pace SVR model, you are possibly best to look at the Jaguar Approved website, where there are currently 15 F-Pace SVR listed for sale around the country. N6 JMX

If the battery in the car is over 5 years old, then it should be considered for a replacement. Starting the car is no longer the definitive ability to show the battery is good. There are so much sensitive electronics in a modern car, especially a Jaguar, that small spikes in the voltage can cause a lot of issues. Short rule, never ignore warnings delivered by the car - they are all trying to tell you something. You simply need to learn how to interpret the warnings. N6 JMX

The car sends me a "low battery" warning. I've been told to ignore it. Any information would be appreciated. RGC

Hi all! I've been a long-time Alfa Romeo owner (for close to 20 years...!) and I'm now looking to switch to Jaguars. More specifically, I'd love to find an F-Pace SVR. Can you guys suggest any Jag-specific selling sites other than the usual generic sites such as Autotrader / Gumtree, Facebook, etc.? Once I find the right car, I'm sure I'll be a very active member here! Thanks all.

Hi I am Tim and have just joined. I have a Jaguar XJ V6 Diesel Portfolio - 2011 I was wondering if anyone could help or advise. I have had the car approximately 6 months ago. Someone pointed out to me that my brake light on the rear drivers side was not working. The indicator and the side light at the top a small strip was working, but the brake and side lights were not working. A local mechanic looked at it and said that the light unit was half full of water. I took it off and drilled 2 small holes at the bottom to drain it, but unfortunately the brake and side lights are not working, just the indicator and a strip of the side light. Is it possible to get this repaired. I live in North Wales, Abergele so somewhere in the area would be good. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Tim

Does anyone have any recommendations for a really good/experienced garage to look after an early 1990’s Jag XJRS? Based near Walton - and needing help with engine trouble 😑.

Jaguar i-pace Thule Velo compact 2 bike carrier for sale
N6 JMX replied to Martin_ipace's topic in Jaguar I-Pace Club
Hi Martin, why not list your "For Sale" item in the Marketplace section a little further down the Forum Homepage. No-one is really going to come to the model section to look at items for sale and one more post here and your item disappears from the front page! Just a suggestion. N6 JMX
