Glasgow.

Glasgow is full today, and it looks as if everyone is enjoy the City and the Sport.

I have had many great experiences in Glasgow, but the funniest was the day I was taking our caravan up to Oban for a couple of weeks holiday.  There were roadworks on the motorway and Scotland were using up the UK quota of cones.

We got stuck in the wrong lane, cones either side and we finished up on the Springfield Road on the day of the Scottish Cup Final. The road was crowded with load of spectators on their way to the match, all carrying a few cans of McEwans.  "See you, Jimmy" and cheers as we drove gingerly through the crowd.

My wife was worried how to get out of the crush, and when I said we were going to head for Glasgow main Railway Station she got somewhat concerned, till I pointed out that there would be road signs pointing the way out.  So we had a great two hours driving through Glasgow, dragging our twin axle Bessacarr behind the Rover.

What a day!

Peter,

At least you know which way to head with the caravan, all credit to you.

Also " as we drove gingerly through the crowd." could have been put better if you want to get out alive

Charlie, I loved going up to Scotland to work. One of my big mates worked at Clydebridge, and I went up there when he retired for his retirement party.

The next morning he and his wife turned up where we had our caravan and took us out for a great day.  He died just a year later.

peter life can be cruel, and alas we cant be fixed as easily as our cars. the bible says to live for today let the lord worrie about the morrow .(not that im a bible thumper) but we are human well some of us are lol my poor old dad was just a normal working man. not a smoker, only had a drink once a week and it wasnt a lot, neither a gambler . he liked a car, and every 4-5 years would buy a good second hand car, he had some nice cars when i was a boy growing up, rovers triumph s, and a few from brittish leyland to. he took early retirement  from post office as he had angina , then got cancer in stomach they got it prety quick and removed it only for years later to return died at 78. charlie

I do, I was lucky enough to survive my flat lining, that's why I try to stay as fit as I can , don't drink, smoke or eat junk .

The weather is brilliant, think I'll take the Jag over Exmoor, so life can't be that bad can it?

It was so warm in Ilfracombe yesterday that the pensioners were walking around on the sea front with their overcoats undone !
