x type immobiliser

hi all , iv got a 2001 x type 3ltr petrol, my fob has stopped working but the key still opens and starts the car, iv tried resetting the fob and had the battery's checked in both fobs , disconnected the car battery and reconnected but nothing has worked , has anyone had this problem before and how did you fix it please , thanks Ian

Welcome to the club, Ian.

 

I think you may have to go to a main dealer to have the key fob reprogrammed to the Car computer.

 

I am no expert but it happened to my son's Skoda Octavia  ---   I think that battery had failed for too long.

hi peter. i will be taking part in the annual invasion of us scots to your home county this year namely blackpool  sept weekend me and HM have booked a caravan along with friends for it. looking forward to it as ive not been in one since i was a kid many years ago. also not been to blackpool for years to. charlie
