Yesterday tried to start engine but wont crank message on dash steering column locked tried both keys immobilizer light works as normal read fault codes & code p1260 can anybody help.

Welcome to the Club, George.

I think the code p1260 is an indication that there is something faulty with the key fob communication with the ECU.  I am not certain, though.

There might be someone who will know exactly what is wrong.

Regards,

Peter.

You may find help here;

http://upkeep.us/OBDII/OBD2/Jaguar/piart.php?art=5064

This is supposed to be a list of the full Jaguar fault codes however, P1620 does not appear in the list

Apparently in the X and S type there are fault codes built in to the instrument cluster, you will fns an explanation in the link below;

 George.     Code P1260 is Theft detected,   Vehical  immobilized.

Stan.
