My brother in law is infested in one are they a good car and what's the mpg like ?

Just bought one (collected it today). I'm not anticipating great mpg but I'll let you know how I get on!!

Mark.

The X type 3.0 litre was a car that sold very well in the USA, Mark.  It is not that frugal, but on a long run you should achieve about 30 mpg so long as your right foot isn't too active.

The main thing is that you will enjoy the Jaguar experience.

Regards,

Peter.

Yes, I normally average about 27mpg. Motorway journeys I have managed 30mpg, and around the town as poor as 22mpg.

Just the usual really, have a drive of it and check the brakes are good and the gear change does not feel like a spoon in a bowl of porridge. No engine management light problems, how regularly has it been serviced? Cambelt change, spark plugs changed. Gas struts that hold the front bonnet up can fail check those are supporting the bonnet when lifted. Check for body rust and around the sills, I had a £700 welding/sill and metal work replacing bill on my old SE.

I must drive like a gooden I get near on 40mpg mines a 2ltr petrol WELL JAGUAR MENTAINED :-)

Ps on a Run :-)

Yeah I used to have the 2.1litre petrol, more economical than the 3.0. I had similar 37-38mpg on motorway journeys with a heavy right foot. :-)
