Am I able to connect my iPhone 5 my x type?

Featured Replies

Hello! Just wondering if it's possible to connect my iPhone to the car, when I press the phone button it says "no phone", had the Bluetooth on and tried to pair. Any advice is welcomed! Thank you

Jack

Jack,

Is Bluetooth enabled on your phone?

Do you have the #code to connect? (it is ##3#*# and the pass key is 1313)

Yeah it was enabled but no joy! I'll give the code a go in a minute

Cheers!

Welcome to the Club, Jack.

I used to have an x type 05 plate, snd my 'phone would not pair with, for some reason.  It is possible that the car has not got the facility.

It could have been my phone not being recognised by the car, although I tried all the codes which Trevor has suggested,

Keep trying, try to catch the car when it is not looking, and good luck.

Regards,

Peter.

Peter,

Perhaps it is something do do with Apple. Do you have bluetooth turned on on the phone . or perhaps your car does not have bluetooth ?

ATB,

Trevor

Hi Jack

I have an X Type 2007 myself do you have the built in radio, sat nav with touch screen, if so you shouldn't have a problem as I have the I Phone 5S myself. Switch on ignition so the the display lights up but do not start the engine. Once you have entred ##3#*# and Bluetooth is on the phone you should be asked for 1313, you will then have to wait 6 mins before your phone book is down loaded your then be able to switch off. Remember every time you leave your car your phone will still be connected for the next 6 mins anyway.

I hope this helps

Andrew

Hi Jack,

One must assume that you have Bluetooth facility wired to your car, otherwise clearly you can expect nothing.  When you seek via 'Settings' on your iPhone does it offer the 'Jaguar' option?  If 'yes' then you have one-way recognition but the car is in denial.

Let me know as I have what could be a similar problem in that my X-type is wired for Bluetooth but sometimes it seems reluctant to pair with my iPhone 4S.  I've only had the car 10 days so it's 'work in progress' but one day I have 'NO PHONE' and the next the display shows the proper 'SIG' and all works well.
