Welcome Trevor       The next thing to ask now is when did it last have a service ie fuel fillter changed

 

Because it sounds as though its starved of fuel ,.?????

Hi Trevor, Frank is probably correct.  I was going to suggest a Terraclean which is rather good on diesels, and will give the fuel system a good clean.

 

I had it done on my S type 2.7 D and it made the world of a difference.
