hi folks

was just wondering how many mpg owners of 3.0 ltr petrol s types were getting round town ?

About 23 or there abouts Keith, but I try to use my wife's little Peugot 108 for urban work if possible and my S-type for longer runs. Averaged out I get around 27 mpg for urban/distance. On a decent run with plenty of motorway work it approaches the mid to high 30's dependant on how I drive it. My Jag is much the same as your's being a 2002 reg. 3 litre petrol. Best wishes Geoff.

Where I live I get about 14mpg around town. From home to town in two miles I have two round a bouts and five sets of lights. not good if they are all at red. But do get 29/30 on a good run on Motorway.

And terrible road works, Stan.  The A5 will eventually be much better

I average 23 to and from work. Which is mostly town driving

Thanks for that info lads. Are them figures with or without a/c switched on? I am only getting 230 miles from a full tank (13 gal) driving 8 miles a day through town with a/c left on all the time as recommended in the handbook. I am going to switch a/c off to see if that makes a notable difference.

Keith

My ac is always left on auto.when I first got mine I was only getting 21mpg due to the air filter being all black and clogged up

Thanks for that guys I must check my airfilter.

This was mine. Despite the previous owner alway taking it to main stealer for a service. But they dont even check it unless its due on age or milage.
