Hi everyone,

I've recently bought my first jaguar and I've loved every moment, until today. The engine cut out as I was driving (moderately, 40mph) and won't restart. AA reckon a common fault on these cars is that the fuel injectors lose calibration and can't calculate the amount of fuel going to the engine, so they refuse to release it. I'm not the most technically minded, so I could use some help understanding this. Pressure on computer testing was up to 1700 when it should kick in around 300.

Does this relate to anyone else? Has anyone else experienced the same as me?

Hi Chris and welcome to the club.

Diesel engines do need a clean out now and then. I had my 2.7D Terracleaned [cost around £120] and it made a great deal of difference.  It will clean out all the fuel systems and I think cleaning the injectors is a bit cheaper than replacing them.

Let us know how you get on.

Peter.
