Hi,my X type was parked for some time and battery drained.

When I parked it the Nav was working fine.

Having got it back on road last week and replaced battery; I get the dreaded C1 50 51 error and blank screen.

Also I cannot remove Sat Nav Dvd from nav reader; it is non responsive.

Any tips or help much appreciated as I am slowly roasting in the car due to blower always on! :-P

Stupid question, but are you leaving the engine running when trying to remove the sat nav DVD? The disc will not come out unless the engine is running. I had to tap the button about three times with the car running, and it popped out. Then try turning igniton off (keeping the disc out) and then back on. Should be a message saying no sat nav disc, then pop it back in with the car running and do not switch off for about ten minutes whilst it reinstalls.

Welcome to the club, Riz,

My disc would not come out unless the ignition was on either on my s type. They are exactly the same system.

On the question of the heater being on I would suspect a faulty switch.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks for the tips chaps; I have tried both methods and unfortunately the DVD will not come out.

I cannot hear any mechanism moving on the DVD reader. I will have a look at the fuses later today & will attempt a battery disconnection and full discharge.

Update: I have tried battery disconnection reset and fuses seem OK. I am thinking to disconnect DVD rom and re-connect...maybe the old boy just needs a wake up call!

Update: It turns out a connection was loose on terminals hence no power. Unit is working now however new problem!

It asks for radio code; I dont have this.

Looking on forums I tried the following method: I entered random code 3 times until says please wait, I then entered >> AMEM PTY and code is deactivated and nav, bluetooth working but says Radio Off.

Tried everything radio/cd will not work, sat nav is fine though.

Also when I switch car off and turn back on the whole cycle starts again I.e. asks for radio code...no sat nav or phone works until do the whole >> AMEM PTY mallarkey...any tips gents?!

Hi Riz,,

The radio code can be obtained via most garages.

I had it done on a Ford Escort XR3i quite a few years ago.
