Hi Andy

Welcome to the Club.

You'll enjoy the x type and the 2-2 litre is a good one, you don't say what colour (inside and outside). I would ask the Dealer if a Service Action 131K (EGR VALVE REPLACEMENT) has been done as this was to Finnish at the end of August, it was for late x type's with certain Vin Numbers. Is it Manual or Auto.

Welcome to the Club, Andy.

That sounds like a good buy, and Tom has given you a very good tip,

I would also suggest you write down any foibles that you think are suspicious as your car is under warranty.

Thanks Tom, the colour is Silver with a cream interior, manual, I may have mislead the dealership as it is a ford dealership in Rhyl that I am buying it from, and the warranty is covered by any ford dealer, as I live in Bolton it helps in case I have any issues, I will find out about the EGR replacement thanks for the tip.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy

It's a small world,i bought my x type at a Jaguar Dealer in Farnworth Bolton.

I would get the Vin Number from your Car and take it into a Jag Dealer and they'll be able to tell you if it has had a Service Action 131K,

and that would give you information regarding the EGR VALVE.

Regards Tom

Thanks Tom I will do that, will probably take it to Jag dealer in Farnworth (Farnells) to check this EGR

Hi Andy

Good to see you got it checked,i knew mine had had a new EGR as one was fitted 6 months before i bought my x type and it turns out that this was a Service Action 131K. In 2-1/2 years I have not had any problems with the egr valve or the DPFilter which is fitted to my x type, the main thing I've been told is to give it a good run once a month and if you do a lot of short journeys give it some Revs now and again.

Regards Tom
