Hi John, and welcome to the JOC which is a great community, I'm quite a newbie to the forum compared to most members but the folks on here really are a great bunch.

I find your comment actually quite annoying, Julie mentions impatience and intolerance (totally agree Julie, not a criticism) I would add another word Ignorance!

On a personal note, I try to be as polite as I can, with everyone I meet, if I say thank you, please or it's appreciated, I mean it! Yet somehow that seems to translate to a weakness? 

One thing I don't 'profess' to be, is a well mannered Gent, but I have a damn good go! I dont get it right all the time, but I make a genuine effort.

I do not understand why people see good manners as a weakness, I see it as a strength.

May be its because society in general is more selfish and self centered.

Many thanks to you all for your comments and your welcome. They  are much appreciated. I think as long as you have a sense of humour, you can usually conquer most things.  If you can laugh at your own shortcomings, you're half way there.
