Hi all

Just enquiring if anyone else has had issues with gear change. Mine seems to lag between 3rd and 4th its like it wants to go in but then doesnt and looking at the rev counter it rises and falls a bit whilst doing it, almost like a surge. When i press the throttle more it changes up no problem. Its around the 40mph mark if that makes any sense? NO fault codes etc flag up. Im wondering if the gearbox Oil and filter may need changing.Owned car for 3 months, Car has 100k on it and i dont know the service history.

Obliged for any feedback

Hi Malcolm,

While the gearbox is allegedly sealed for life, many members have changed the Oil and filter at 75k  miles and it appears to have been most beneficial.

Regards,

Peter.

Yes i heard that too peter, i think that sealed for life means sealed until you get it to the jaguar garage. Im definately thinking along the lines of an Oil and filter change.

Many thanks my friend

Find a good indie garage after you've had a quote from the main dealers first.

As a guide my local dealer wanted £540+vat for a cambelt change.

A local indie did it for £360 INC vat!!

BUT make sure they use the correct ATF fluid that jaguar recommends.

Think the right price is around the £250 mark.
