Hi all,

 

Wondered if anyone had noticed this with their S Type,

 

Engine Management Light has been on for the past 2 weeks... havent had chance to read the codes as my bluetooth adapter hasnt been working. 

 

Weirdly, I was checking levels etc and noticed the coolant was just below the min mark, topped it up with the proper coolant and no EML... ?

 

Is this coincidence or was the car trying to tell me to top up the fluid ?

I think it was, Chris.  If you had been able to plug in your code reader it would have generated a code saying that you needed to top up the coolant.

Thanks @Old Peter, ok. I can plug my reader in but for some reason doesnt connect to the ECU... Cheers. I didnt know that the EML would come on for coolant top up.

Surely you should have had a coolant low message instead of the EML message?

I think it is just the amber light, Garry, that is on.

Definately EML that was on....

Agree Peter but low coolant would light the low coolant light not the EML
