  1. Thanks Joe, i was looking to but an s type as i miss my old one. Looking at ads online and it is a chore phoning each one to see what each car has. I used to just check on that site , so much easier.
  2. What was the site that gives you the original spec for your car when built.
  3. I used to pull out the R/H boot trim and unplug the Handbrake module. Does the same thing but quicker.
  4. Cat D stolen recovered in 2014. I purchased the car soon afterwards and have enjoyed every minute of her. Sadly a company car now means she has to go. She has all the usual extras such as sat nav with the latest map updates, folding heated electric mirrors, cruise, aircon (ice cold), Bluetooth phone prep, rear electric blind, electric memory seats and steering column, full factory body kit, She has covered 78k which is warranted and sailed through her last mot. The bad bit's, the n/s/f wheel liner is damaged there is a small rust patch on the roof adj to the windscreen, a couple of areas of laquer peel and the rear bumper needs a refit along the passenger side. Take a look at the pics and see what you think.MOT runs out 11th sept but i will have her tested this week so a new MOT will be provided. Price is £2300 OVNO.
  5. Had mine done 3 weeks ago by National Windscreens and the whole screen defrosts
  6. Have the traction control checked out, a mechanic told me that the rear brakes wear out quickly as the traction control operates on the rear brakes.
  7. My blind is operated by a push to make switch next to the parking sensor switch in the overhead console. I would have thought that the supply would go direct to the blind via a relay which is operated by the switch.
  8. I would check that tyre size, Mine has 245/40/18
  9. I was 25 when i purchased a 4.2 Daimler Sovereign in Squadron Blue with a Navy Blue vinyl roof. Just loved that car. Then a long gap until last year when i purchased a 56 plate S-Type 2.7 V6 D again in Blue but alas no vinyl roof. Love this one even more (even with the parkbrake fault)
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-JAGUAR-S-TYPE-V6-SE-AUTO-FULL-LEATHER-SAT-NAV-CLIMATE-ALLOYS-NO-KEY-SCRAP-/272096805451?hash=item3f5a3bc24b:g:oQoAAOSwstxVddlG Might do someone who can get her back running or needs parts.
  11. To me then you have 3 option's. 1, leave the car outside. 2, Sell the car and get something smaller. 3, Get a bigger garage. ps only joking.
  12. Why not paint a vertical line on the rear wall of your garage so that it lines up with the center of your face, aim for the line and that should do it. You could also paint a line on the right hand wall so that when your car is in as far as you want , this line would be level with your face when you look at it.
  13. On my s-type i can have automatic lights that come on when the light levels are low and to powerfold the mirrors i have to make sure the mirror selector switch is in the middle position and the press down on the adjuster. Hope this helps.+
  14. Look at the pre heater. This is a known source of leaks and fumes.
  15. Just got the car back from the garage after developing a water leak. Asked them to also check for a rattle underneath the car. Turn's out there is something that has come loose inside the catalytic converter. Anyone else heard of this and i suppose a new cat is required? Thank's in advance and Merry Chrimbo.
  16. Press the speak button on the steering wheel, if it just mute's the radio then voice is not fitted. The car's are normally wired for voice as standard, but you will need the control module (which fit's next to the cdc player and /or sat nav in the boot) . You may also need the microphone which should be in the roof lining above where you sit.
  17. 2 things to do/check. Check the handbrake cabling where it goes over the diff (the cables are known to chafe there) you could unplug the handbrake module in the boot and then see if it happens again.
  18. Mine bleep in traffic if i get too close to the car in front or a car gets too close to my rear bumper regardless whether i'm in gear or neutral. I thought that is what they were meant to do. I can switch them off from the roof console.
  19. Agree Peter but low coolant would light the low coolant light not the EML
  20. Surely you should have had a coolant low message instead of the EML message?
  21. Peter, you really should be directing him toward's an S type.
  22. Just a thought but when i changed my pads i had brake fade until i re-calibrated the handbrake. worth a try and simple to do.
  23. My tapping sound turned out to be a heat shield under the car. The fixing hole had become enlarged, 1 washer and the noise stopped.
