Don't think I have voice command, how can I tell and if not can it be added/ fitted?

Any advice please.

Press the speak button on the steering wheel, if it just mute's the radio then voice is not fitted. The car's are normally wired for voice as standard, but you will need the control module (which fit's next to the cdc player and /or sat nav in the boot) . You may also need the microphone which should be in the roof lining above where you sit.

Hi Alan,

If you take your VIN number to a Jaguar Dealer you will be able to get the spec of your car when it left the factory.  There is a member in Lancashire [The Voices] who works for a Jaguar Dealer who will help if possible.

Jaguar Voice was not specified for my S type for which I was rather thankful, as I have heard bad reports about it.

Peter.

HI

like Gary says, if you press the Voice button on the steering, is should beep and say listening on the dash, if it says mute on the nav display, then it might not

if you have Phone built in then you might all ready have a mic, if it not visible between your sun visor and interior light, then you will need a mic

some had mic built into interior light, but these were not very good and a external one is fitted on the roof lining between your sun visor and interior light, which are a lot better

phone module goes in the boot on the back of a metal panel behind the cd changer/nav unit in the boot

you can get them on ebay and there plug and play, you will also need a fibre optic lead as well

if you buying a module off ebay look at the numbers the last two letters refer to software version so the later letters are better so a BE is better than a BA, also check it says ENG on it foe english as there are loads of foreign one on ebay.

cheers

Joe

Hi Alan

I can put your vin into sdd/ids and it will give me the spec of your car

E Bay !

I retrofitted it to mine, easy job. Had to buy an extra fibre cable but that was it, everything clearly labelled. Have got heaps of photos from when I did it if you need them.
