Hi,

Since the cold weather has set in, a drive belt has started 'twittering' (the usual noise when it's slipping slightly.)

It disappears after a couple of miles, but it's not good for the image of a Jaguar.

Firstly, is the engine cover held on by the 4 bolts I can see, and secondly, is there a spray on the market to cure it?

Cheers,

Graham.

Hi Graham,

In damp weather I usually blame that for making such noises and give the engine a good spray of WD40.

Hi

I'd allway's recommend a new belt, mainly because you don't want it fail this time of year, while the weather rubbish

but if you want a quick fix, 1 really short shot of wd40 will cure it for a for a while, aim for the inside of the belt, makes the rubber a bit softer

cheers

joe
