I am 71 and the proud owner of a 3 L S Type that as served me well for the last 13 years unfortunately a few things are now going wrong, the latest being the front seat tavel any experiences or advice would be welome. The operation has become intermittent and needs a good push to get it moving.I will be doing the repair myself with the help of a self taught mechanic ..

Hi David and welcome to the club.

When I had the same issue - intermittent movement, I sprayed the rails with WD40 and it started working again.

If that doesn't work, Joe has given you the other option.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks Joe and Peter,it sounds mechanical ,will be having a go at it in the next couple of weeks ,so I will keep you posted.

I have downloaded instructions on how to remove the seat and the electric circuit diagrams from Jagrepair.com

I dont know if any members know this site but it is fairly comprehensive with many common problems with photos on how to repair.
