OVERHEATING

Featured Replies

Am having the Same issue with my STYPE 2004 , first of all the radiator holes got broken and the radiator start leaking and the holes was changed but still yet car now seriously over heating after 2min drive... 😔

hi

first thing is to get a sniff test done, maybe head gasket, most garages do a sniff test, check for CO in the expansion tank

if it passes a sniff tests, its either going to be a stuck thermostat and worn blades on the water pump

cheers

Joe

HI all,

I have a 3.0 V6 S type and my temperature guage runs ever so slightly past the half way mark..  FYI the car has had the headgaskets done and new waterpump fitted.

Is this normal or should they run bang on the half way mark?

Thanks

Dan

Welcome to the club, Daniel.

I should not worry about a slight increase on the instrument gauge one the halfway mark.  It happens  on my 2.7 diesel s type and it usually happens when I have been driving circa 70 mph and I am slowing down to 30/40 mpg. Hot weather can sometimes cause it.

Regards,

Peter.

HI Peter,

Thanks for your response.  The car does it all of the time, even in this cold weather, it just sits slightly above half way...

thank you
