Hi there hope you can help I have an xj8 4.0  yr 2000 , great car but it's just got itself a problem ,

Once upon a time it ran like a siryan with a UK passport . Now it runs on resticted performance until it reaches running temp and left for ten mins then it runs like a dream . Please help !

Hi Simon, and welcome to the Club.

I am just giving you a bit of a guess, but if your car was a 1970 Ford Escort I would say that the choke wasn't working properly.  Probably something to do with the fuel system has something to do with it  --  Plugs or injectors.

As I say, just a guess, but good luck.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Simon ,Is it Diesel or petrol does it smoke when in restricted performance --I,m the same as Peter ---Plugs or injectors.????
