Hi All,

The Luggage Cover in my son's 2006 X Type estate is refusing to retract, which looks like the spring mechanism has failed.

Has any one tried to repair this expensive item with success?

Any answers or suggestion for a replacement would be welcome.

me peter it would be a trip to the breakers/scrap yard to find a decent cheap one or phone around first, or even ebay.  but me i would have to take it to bits to see if i could repair it first.

Hi David, 

I found a way to repair it but it involves dismantling it. The problem is that it looks impossible to get the ends off  ---  I tried yesterday and neither will budge.

I found one in a breakers yard online, but the reviews of that particular yard were not very promising.  There are a couple I know locally and I will pay them a visit to se what they have.
