Good Evening,

I've just purchased a 2005 X-Type 2.5 petrol SE Estate which has a damaged front end.  It needs the bonnet, grill, bumper and radiator.  Can I purchase the parts for my car from all years up to 2005, or am I restricted to 2005 SE versions only?  Any help and pointers very much appreciated.

the only advice i can offer is turn to a breakers yard, as most car insurance companys now do this so that the car is getting a genuine part. just have your list of parts that you need and ask away for what you need!  as for your colour code look for your id plate by door pillars.  good luck with the repairs....dave

Hi Chris,

I used to have a 2.5 X type SE and the parts that you need are quite common across the range.

David has pointed you in the right direction.  I have used BreakerYard, but there are lots of other yards if you google around.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Have I got you wrong or are you actually saying that most repairers are getting parts from breakers on behalf of insurance companys?

I ask only because my insurance company told me that my 75 would be a write off due to the requirement of a body part "none available new" but lots at the breakers!

Hi Gentlemen,

Thank you for your advice and assistance, I'll check around and see what  can find.  Kind regards, Chris

There are a few jaguar breakers on Ebay that will probably have the parts you will need.

The only thing you will have to do is spray them to match the colour that you have.

I needed to get my front N/S wing replaced about a year ago and this breakers on Ebay was brilliant. They specialise in Jags and have thousands of parts in stock.

Here's a link to them. Hope that helps.
