My sat nav does not appear to show minor roads. Is this normal?

Try changing the scale,it might help.

I am not too impressed with the sat nav display either.First car I have had with a built in system.Although it's one of the best systems still comes nowhere near the info. and options on My Tom Tom live.

Hi Terry,

I rather like the S type Sat Nav, particularly the choice of displays.  The street listing box is quite useful particularly in cities, and Doris is very polite in her instructions!

She will get me and SWMBO down to our rented cottage in Ivybridge next week.

Regards,

Peter

I guess I have been spoiled with the Tom Tom but the XF system does the job also has traffic warnings and gives alternative routes to avoid delays etc.

I tend to just use the voice  guidance which works well and lessens the distraction of looking at the display.

Just used to like the route options on the Tom Tom ,if not in a hurry I would use the shortest route option which would use all the country lanes and often roads I wouldn't think of taking without it.Found some lovely roads and villages using it.

The other function I miss is the lane guidance which gives useful information in complicated junctions and intersections, there is a pop up view on the xf but it just clutters up the screen and causes confusion.

The car is far too much fun to worry about the "toys " anyhow.

Terry.

Hi Terry,

My s type satnav gives me the route options, and you can list  and  alter them in the settings.  And after living in four different parts of the country and being on the road for 30 years I did get to know the way there and back in most areas.

But as you say, enjoying the car comes ahead of the "toys".

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Guys,

Recently acquired my 2012 XF 3.0 Diesel....love it, but am a little disappointed with the Sat Nav, in particular no TMC info even though TMC is green when in guidance mode. Also no speed limit info.

Am i missing something ?

BTW - S/W is at latest version

Thanks
