Hi,

Glad to be here with you wonderful people.  I just bought a 2001 x-type 2.5 and it has a few niggles that I hope one of you kind people could help with:-

1. I'm getting a p0420 code on my obdII reader, the MIL is not on, and the car seems to drive fine.  Is this something to worry about ?

2. The manual lock on the drivers door locks with the key, but won't unlock with the key ???  Any ideas.

But so far I'm really enjoying the experience of the car.  I am all too aware of "niggles" I have owned a number of rovers in the past lol.

Welcome to the club, Andy.

I think P0420 is telling you that the Catalytic Converter is operation below its efficiency.

The question of the lock?  That I do not know, but I would squirt in a little WD40  --  Universal cure [sometimes].

trreagrds,

Peter.

HI

As Peter said, WD40 should do the trick,

A good run and get the cat up to temp might cure it

cheers

Joe
