Selecting the right battery

Featured Replies

Hi everybody

I'm in need of advice about changing the battery on my 2007 S type. It would seem, despite seemingly full of power, it is causing problems with a lot of the electronics on the car, under volt error codes  - currently EPB and gearbox fault message ( which disappears when turning off and then restarting ).

The current battery is Jaguar branded, 90ah, 800 amps ( SAE ), 4R83-10655-BA.

Looking online with this "part number", all the batteries recommended are 100ah and 900amps.

Would this be a good battery type to fit or cause more problems?

Many thanks

Hi Peter,

An s type battery usually needs changing every 5 years or so.

I have a Platinum Battery 90ah recommended for diesel cars  --  a neighbour owns an Auto Accessory shop  -- and it has not let me down.

There are many good batteries around but don't get anything less than 90ah.

Regards,

Peter.

Thank you all once again for your expertise.

hi

bosch batteries have allways served me well in the past

the one on my mitsubishi has been on over 10 years, but with the help of a CTEK charger, has always performed excellent

My Jaguar has a Jaguar battery at the moment and that seems to perform well, but if I were to replace it now, I'd go for a AGM battery, far better

battery mega store have some great deals on usually

cheers

Joe
