Smell of diesel in cabin

Featured Replies

Hi all. On start up mainly but sometimes whilst stationary I get a smell of deisel in the cabin any ideas

Hi Gareth,

The s type has an auxiliary heater which assists the warm up of the cabin, giving a slight smell of diesel on start up. It should not last more than 30 seconds or so.

I don't know about when stationary though. I never get that.

Regards,

Peter.

If the external temperature is below 5 degrees C when you start up I'd initially think of Aux Heater fumes.

If the temperature isn't low, I'd be looking at a fractured flexi in one of the exhausts.

Hey thanks Peter. That sounds about right. It really doesn’t last that long and it not very often I get it when stationary. That’s great advice and I thank you for it. Taa Gareth
