It seems this can be a challenging task as there appear to be inexplicable inconsistencies in the process. No promises this will work but I previously found information posted by Claws and Ron (frequent contributors to this forum) that may be of help.

Activating S-Type keys via SDD is a simple process Ron. As you say, it first of all removes any previous keys and enables two keys in less than 5 minutes.

Same principle Ron. Scary to contemplate but actually no problem.

any descent locksmith can do keys for these now

most place you take your key in and they just copy it, clone the transponder chip inside it

and usually for a reasonable price
