I have just bought my first jaguar xf 2013 MY im having trouble with the sat nav all it says is satnav initializing and doesn't do anything else can anyone point me in the right direction as to what the problem is please 

Hi Paul,

Does your XF have a disc in the boot?  If so, it will be the same as the s type.  Try ejecting the disc and putting it back in and keep your fingers crossed.  Then make sure your Sat Nav is in the UK.

No Peter it doesn’t have a disc it’s a usb jobbie there is a hdd

I have a 2013 model as well Paul, with the HDD your sat Nav should initialise only for a few seconds and then show the warning regarding using it while te vehicle is in motion one you press I agree it starts up.  I also updated the maps to 2018 which is the latest release it made a big difference although the upgrade is supplied on a USB Memory Stick and takes between 2.30mins and 3.00 hours o update (best done on a long drive).  Sounds like you have a fault in yours.

I have bought a usb satnav update put it in the usb slot in the center console and all I’m getting is music device error is there another usb ?

I have updated the satnav in my 2014 xf with a usb from navi-expert.com. It was £95 but the download was smooth and lasted 2.5 to 3 hours.

Mine did this once - I reset the car by disconnecting the battery for a while - That fixed it.
