Little niggles build quality

Featured Replies

I’ve had the xf now for 10 months 09 3.0 d it’s now got 76,789 miles on the clock it’s been a great car but this last week I’ve had 2 little jiggles with it and it in my opinion comes down to quality.

Yes I no these are common faults but it’s still p####s me off the rear exhaust shield as rattled it’s way off and the front passenger brake cover as come off due to the rivets rotting away.

Not big jobs I’ll do them myself but just bugs the hell out of me why a big brand manufacturer uses rubbish parts.

Hi Chris,

I understand your point, but there's a but...

You've had your XF for 10 months of it's 10 years...

Maybe the problems were caused by how it has been treated in the past? I'm not a Jaguar evangelist, just love to be in one, driving it, generally I find the XF to be pretty solid, certainly better than my previous ride, a 2017 Mercedes (company car).

I'm honestly not having a go - mine had stupid tyres (previous owner's choice) and needed a brake overhaul when I got it (wear and tear) - I'm not sure it's down to rubbish parts, just age?

Cheers,
Jon

Yes Jon age and the previous owners care does matter you are definitely correct on that. Its just a couple of niggles that’s all compared to my last vehicle an 04 cayenne with low mileage this is nothing that cost an arm and a leg wow.And no I no your not having a go pal.

quality spot on with mine, no rattles or squeaks, best motor I've had, but I think mine has had a prang at some point in its life as the steering wheel jag emblem is dented, so I'm assuming the air bag has gone off at some point!!
