Hi,

I'm about to start a rebuild on a 2010 XKR engine, I've been looking around for parts and noticed Jaguar offer a short block for the 5.0. What I find confusing and I'm sorry for my ignorance here, I thought the compression ratio was due to different shaped piston heads but the short block is supposedly used in the XKR and the XK.  Is the compression difference due the heads and has nothing to do with the bottom end of the engine (Crank, block, pistons and connecting rods are all part of the same short block).
