Hi everyone, contemplating moving back to Jaguar after a while with Audi. I like the XF and the 3.0 d sport looks like the way to go (would prefer petrol but not many about.....

What year would be best to go for (budget is £18k give or take a couple of grand)

any thoughts would much appreciated and any advice on if the 3.0d is the best engine would be appreciated

thanks

Welcome to the Club.

I bought my XF in September and having looked at XF models for 3 to 4 month's and in particular the 3:0 litre model's ,as members who have the V6 engine like the smoothness and power of these engine's.

But having checked out Servicing Costs ( ie Twin turbos, 2 EGR Valves, and changing Belts could cost £1000 pounds ) i've gone for the 2:0 litre 180 hp Portfolio model, and i'm enjoying every minute.

When checking out a XF X260 you'll have to check out what you want on the Car ( ie heated windscreen, heated seats, folding mirrors, folding rear seats, adaptive suspension ) as there's not 2 XF Car's the same as wiring looms are made for individual cars.

And check out the Service History, as there's no Stamps in the Handbook now it's all on a Computer.

Regards Tom.
