I have 2.7 diesel XF 58 plate. When you get to 70 there is a vibration through the car. I have had all the wheels balanced and the prop checked ? Any ideas

I had the same problem. Mine is 08 plate with 19 inch wheels. I had 30 pound pressure in the tyres all round, I took the tyres up to 35 pound and it cured the problem, no more vibration.

That's interesting, I might check the tyre pressures. I noticed this on mine earlier today at 70mph. Mine is an 09 plate with 19 inch wheels too.

Too high a pressure and you can lose both cornering and braking ability. Keep the pressures at what the handbook says.

you have a different problem. If they’re all balanced, take them off and check for dents in the rims

Agreed, my intention is to check what they are and that they are correct rather than just go with using a different level. It's just interesting that he has the same 19in wheel upgrade, the same model and it happens at exactly the same speed which suggests that whatever it is, it's the same issue.

It feels more like tracking to me.

If it was a tracking issue, you should see excessive wear on the inside or outside of the tyres

I don't know because I've only just got it, and it has new tyres on it. I've had a quick word with a local garage (who just happens to have the gear to do DPF revamps too which is handy to know), he seems to think it's either tracking or balancing too but I've booked it in with them for a check next week just to be sure. They're also going to do a diag on the DPF so we'll have a better idea what sort of state that is in.

There are some code readers that will tell you the state of your dpf and can also force a regen

the cynic in me reckons he’ll tell you that it needs cleaned out…

if the warning light in the dash doesn’t come on, your dpf will be fine

Yes, I'm usually cynical too when it comes to garages, but it was actually my idea to do the diag to see if I could get an idea of what condition it's in, and to be fair he actually said he thought it would be OK and that they tend to need removing and cleaning at around the 75-80k mark. Mine's done 52k.

I may just get one of those readers, I'm intending reading through the dpf threads to find out which ones are recommended, not had the time yet.
