Hi, I did not get a  chance to burn off the DPF when the amber warning came on.

Now have a red warning and getting scary noise from my mechanic.

I noted another topic mentioned that the innards of the filter can be removed.

Any ideas about how to proceed?

Hi James,

If the amber light could talk it would say "Fix it now and don't mess around".  You should now get the DPF dealt with by a garage.

Removing the innards of the DPF is illegal and you will fail an MOT.  Don't do it.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks for that advice. My mechanic is find it difficult to find a non jaguar part. Original parts are expensive. Any suggestion of where I might find one? He is reluctant to order one unless certain its right.
