Good evening everyone.

I recently bought a 2009 XK 4.2 and would like an recommendations for a trickle charger for my new car.

Thank you in anticipation

Welcome to the forum.

Get yourself a CTEK 7 or CTEK 10, simple plug and play and will keep your battery on the top line.

Hi

As above CTEK every time, but the basic mxs 5.0 or mxs 3.6 are also fine

the original Jaguar CTEK charger is only a 3.3 amp and does the job superbly, have had one on mine for many years and still has the Jaguar battery, it only trickle charges as required, once up to voltage the charger knock off and monitors the voltage and restarts the charging sequence once the battery voltage drops. so a large charger is not required your just paying extra for something your not using.

also recommend the convenience kits, so you conect the kit to the battery and you fit a charging socket close to the battery, so you dont have to expose  the battery to charge it

cheers

Joe

Definitely CTEK, as above advice. I would recommend the MXS 7 or MXS 10, as they have the useful ability of being used as a supply, if set up correctly initially. This avoids the chance of loosing electrical current and therefore numerous settings, if you ever have to change the battery or disconnect the battery for some reason.

I have a CTEK MXS 7 and it keeps my S-Type (renown battery drainers) well up together and always serviceable. A very worthwhile investment.

Best Wishes and Regards, John
