Hopefully someone can help??

I've just removed the cd changer

(X type estate ) from the boot,

The player is faulty so I'm replacing it, but when I turned the power back on, I've no sound, no speaker set up and no phone anymore!!!  I was hoping that when I replace the changer things should return to normal or am I missing something??

Thanks in advance, Steve.

I've just received the replacement cd changer, so I'll check the optic cable when I put it in,  fingers crossed I've just forgot to plug something in!!

An update on this would be interesting.

If you take a component out of the fibre optic loop you must connect another cable to it to complete the loop.......if not complete nothing will work

I find that interesting, being from the "Dinosaur Age" and never having been involved with optic technology in vehicles. Having thought about it I can well understand the logic of what you say, in as much as if you have a break/gap in the optical process/route then it plainly will not work.

Many thanks for causing the little grey matter to give it some thought.

Regards, John
