Greetings!

First time owning a Jaguar (S-Type V6 Se Auto 2005 - hence the username) so thought I would register and say hello.

Looking forward to learning more about the car as I plan to take good care of it, so I'll probably be asking some questions soon regarding outdoor cover protectors and the best wax/polish etc.

Cheers,

AG

You are welcome.

The S-Type can be challenging, especially in respect of suffering when battery charge gets low. You can end up with numerous rogue messages/codes etc. Best answer is to invest in a CTEX MS 7 or 10 battery charger / re-conditioner and use it on the car at least (if not more) than once per month for at least 24 hours. They will adequately control Parasitic Drain which Jaguars and in particular S-Type seems prone to.

I use one regularly and it appears to keep my S-Type under control. There are many users of the CTEK on this forum who would thoroughly recommend them.

Best Wishes and Regards, John

Welcome to the club, Anthony.

If I wrote what John has just written I would be told that I have written exactly what John has said. My s type has been in my hands since 2013 and I have not had many problems.

I just take it easy and enjoy.

Regards,

Peter.

Welcome aboard Anthony! I also recently bought my first S Type (but 3rd Jag overall) and am rapidly learning that not all repair procedures apply to all years, not all trim is the same and many things are VIN related.

So far i've been welcomed and had help from several members, John (above) being one of the more helpful. 😉 😄

Hi Anthony

Welcome to “the wonderful world of Jaguar”.

I was glad to read you’re planning on keeping yours for a while 😁  It’s a weird thing that once bitten by the Jag bug, you can never quite get rid of it!  I disappeared off to Lexus for a little while, but when I got the opportunity, I was straight back to a Jag.

You’ll read of problems, frustrations and complaints galore, but nobody ever says “that’s it, I give in!”  They usually just buy another Jag 😁

Have fun!

All the best

Si
